Unlike professional football, most grassroots clubs depend on local funding, with run down facilities, Harry’s is investing and focusing on where football really matters most - in local communities.

Harry’s announced Gossoms End FC as the winners and work has since been underway to revamp their changing room and transform the local facilities.

Cllr Graeme Elliot, member for finance and resources, said: “This great opportunity to refurbish one of our local changing rooms was brought forward by local football team Gossoms End FC, and the investment made by Harry’s will benefit the community for years to come.

"Well done to the entire project team for making this happen despite the difficult circumstances over the last few months.

“We completely support Harry’s ambition to back grassroots clubs who play such a vital role in the physical and mental wellbeing of communities and we hope that the club will be able to get back to the game they love and their new changing rooms soon.”

Through their own research, Harry’s know participation in team sport is hugely important for men’s wellbeing and mental health - and this has never felt more important than now.

The aim with this campaign was to bring the focus back to grassroots, there’s never been more money in football, but the grassroots game doesn’t see that much of it.

With Footballs Other Guy’s, Harry’s has been able to help secure the long-term future of Gossoms End FC, providing hope in times of uncertainty.
