Vox Pop: Subway’s 2,000th store is in Hemel Hempstead, but what’s your favourite sarnie?

Reporter Victoria Bull took to Grovehill’s Henry Wells Square in Hemel Hempstead to ask shoppers about their ultimate sandwich fillings.

Wendy Forder, Grovehill: ‘It’s not something they’d do in Subway, but in a cafe – it’s hot bacon and fried egg with a little bit of ketchup. It’s a classic as far as I’m concerned.’
Carol Gardner, Grovehill: ‘I like a scrambled egg sandwich – as a sandwich, a roll, or whatever! I have it as an alternative to egg mayo, because I don’t eat mayonnaise.’

Mark Amponsa, town centre: ‘I’m not sure... It would have to be a good sandwich, something like a good old BLT – bacon, lettuce and tomato.’

David Bedwell, Grovehill: ‘Pastrami and beef – I would normally have that at home. I go for lots of meat, a little bit of mustard and home-cooked bread.’

Roselle Espera, Grovehill: ‘At Subway Ialways go for the steak. If making it myself, I’d cook it well done. You can’t beat a steak sandwich.’
