Vox Pop: After Madonna’s embarrassing slip-up, what’s your cringiest memory?

Reporter Victoria Bull asked shoppers in the Marlowes Shopping Centre what makes them cringe.

Anthony Mills, Cotterells: ‘I don’t really have any embarrassing moments – I haven’t thought about it really. With Madonna’s fall, it’s possible it was a publicity stunt.’

Anthony Watson, working in Hemel Hempstead: ‘I do get embarrassed easily, but I can’t remember the last time I did. I did cringe a bit watching Madonna, but I would laugh at that sort of thing.’

Susan Butler, Pitstone: ‘I have actually fallen over quite a few times even in the last couple of weeks. It is embarrassing because everybody laughs, but I would do the same in that situation!’

Viv Wakeman, Chipperfield: ‘My children used to embarrass me . I told my youngest she wouldn’t grow if she didn’t eat, and she repeated it when she saw a particularly short person. I wanted the ground to swallow me up!’

Dawn Wharfe, Highfield: ‘I get embarrassed very easily. Your kids embarrass you, but you get your revenge when they grow up and you take great pleasure in embarrassing them instead!’
