Nigel Oseland is one of the directors of the first beer production company in Tring for 100 years, Haresfoot Brewery. The company creates bevvies which are meticulously brewed using the finest hops and malted barley.

What is your favourite food? Beans on toast with grated cheese.

What’s the most played song on your iPod? Comfortably Numb – a song by the English rock band Pink Floyd, which first appears on the 1979 double album The Wall. It was also released as a single in 1980 and is regarded as one of the band’s most famous.

Favourite quote? ‘88.2% of all statistics are made up on the spot.’

Favourite thing to do to relax? SCUBA diving.

What was the last film you watched? Cuban Fury – a 2014 romantic comedy film starring Nick Frost, Rashida Jones and Chris O’Dowd, about a former teen salsa champion who tries to win over his new boss by re-mastering the art of dance.

What is the one thing you hate the most? Commuting early into London and the crowded, stinky tube.

If you could have 5 famous people for dinner – past or present – who would you pick and why? Ricky Gervais, Guy Garvey, Nigella Lawson, Ridley Scott, Charles Darwin. I admire them and what they have achieved.

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? An explorer or an architect.

If you could witness any event past, present or future, what would it be and why? The big bang - the greatest show ever and where it all started

What’s the hardest thing you’ve ever done? Tried to learn Danish – pointless as there are more pigs in Denmark than Danes.

What’s the best or worst gift you have ever given or received? I once gave battery charger to a girlfriend, and I received balloon flight from wife – now cancelled seven times!

How would you like to be remembered? A someone who contributed intellectually to society.

What is your favourite thing to do or place to visit in Dacorum? Haresfoot Brewery, of course!
