Open evening for young people to find out more about a career in science

The Schools to Science Park Fair is an ideal opportunity for young people considering their future options to talk to and watch presentations from industry experts, universities, colleges and professional bodies about the routes into their chosen career and the range of jobs available.

Among the organisations attending on Tuesday, June 23 from 5pm will be:

• The Royal Veterinary College,

• University of Hertfordshire,

• University of Cambridge,

• University College London,

• Royal Society of Chemistry,

• Institute of Biomedical Sciences,

• Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences

SBC scientists will be joined by apprentices from neighbouring global pharmaceutical company GSK who will give pupils an insight into what a career in science is like.

The evening falls on National Women in Engineering Day (NWED) which celebrates the achievements of women in this sector and their contribution as a whole across other STEM

related areas (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths).

“Our first careers evening coincides with Women In Engineering Day which is an excellent opportunity to show you just how exciting and rewarding a career in a STEM-related field such as science can be for young men and women alike.”
