New MEP takes up her Brussels role

Hertfordshire's new MEP Alex Mayer has taken up her post after being officially sworn in at the European Parliament.

Ms Mayer replaces Richard Howitt who stepped down earlier this year.

She said: “Over the coming two years, Labour MEPs will have a crucial role to play in holding the government to account on Brexit.”
