Lions, lawnmower and gladiator stolen in burglary

Two men have been charged following the theft of two bronze lions, a marble gladiator ornament and a lawnmower.

Trevor Peters, 49, of Chambersbury Lane, Hemel Hempstead, and Skip Grant, aged 36, of Berefeld, Highfield, Hemel Hempstead, have both been charged with burglary.

The pair appeared at Hatfield Remand Court yesterday (Tuesday, June 14) and have been bailed to appear at Luton Crown Court on July 18.

Between 10.30pm on Sunday, June 12 and 1am the following morning, a burglary occurred at a property in Leverstock Green Road, Hemel Hempstead.

Two valuable garden ornaments – a small bronze lion, a large bronze lion and a marble

gladiator – along with a lawnmower were taken.

The small bronze lion has since been recovered by police and returned to its owners.
