Length of Herts roads would get you to America
The total length of all the roads in Herts adds up to 3,062 miles, according to new statistics released today by the government.
The figure is made up of 66 miles of motorway, 308 miles of A roads, 198 miles of B roads, 511 miles of C roads and 1,976 miles of ungraded roads.
Three-thousand miles is roughly equivalent to the distance between the UK and Massachusetts.
The UK has 245,000 miles of roads in total.
