It means the current rundown and outdated college in Marlowe’s will be replaced in stages, firstly with two three storey educational buildings totalling 4,200 sq ft, which will see full time student numbers increase from 300 to 400.
These two buildings represent the first stage of works and will be used for general further education.

Under phase two, which will be subject to a further planning application, a two storey block dedicated to engineering and construction will be created.
Phase three will see land earmarked for possible future expansion to offer opportunities to increase the curriculum on offer at the college.
Surplus land around the site will be sold off for development, possibly housing.
