Horse rider ‘seriously injured’ after fall on bridleway

A woman has been hospitalised after falling from her horse while riding along a country path – and police are trying to trace a man who could help their enquiries.

The incident happened on a bridleway in Chesham Road, next to the turn-off for Berkhamsted and Chesham on the A41, between 6.40pm and 7pm on Tuesday, September 1.

The woman, in her 30s, remains in hospital.

Police are now appealing to track down a man who may have been walking his dogs in the area at the time.

It is thought he was wearing a black jacket and had two light-coloured hounds with him.

Detective Constable Garry Madgwick said: “The rider suffered serious injuries during the incident and we are working to establish exactly what happened.

“I am keen to trace the man who was reportedly on the path around the time of the incident as he may have information which could assist with enquires into the incident.

“If this was you, or you believe you know the identity of the man, then please contact me.”
