The Hemel venue was relaunched in October 2015 following a £7million revamp.

The venue is kitted out with 17 screens open to the public, seating for up to 2,266 film fans, a 281-seat IMAX auditorium, plus a conference suite and party room, and new restaurant units.

Mooky Greidinger, chief executive officer of Cineworld, said: “We are delighted to confirm the news that Cineworld will be acquiring five new cinemas.

“The move is part of an ongoing expansion plan, giving our customers the very best experience and latest technology, ensuring Cineworld remains to be the best place to watch a movie.”
