Going green saves taxpayers cash

Hertfordshire County Council has saved green by going green, as it has slashed its carbon footprint.

Over the last two years council chiefs have cut their carbon footprint by around 5,000 CO2 tonnes. That equates to a £750,000 saving for taxpayers - £250,000 gas and £500,000 electricity. Initiatives have included LED lights and more effective temperature controls.
