Evening of beauty and fashion raises £2,000

Fashion lovers from all over Hertfordshire converged on St Albans for an evening of fashion, beauty and style advice in support of Abbots Langley charity DEMAND Design & Manufacture for Disability.

Hosted in the beautiful St Michael’s Manor Hotel, the event supported DEMAND’s work creating custom disability equipment that helps hundreds of people each year to be independent and empowered to do things they love.

Guests had the chance to pick up designer bargains from both a high street sample sale and DEMAND’s pop-up shop with hundreds of nearly new garments donated by friends of the charity.

Stalls included local jewellery, skincare and boutique clothing.

One guest was treated to a 10-minute makeover, courtesy of Restyle Magic and House of Colour St Albans, who demonstrated how simple make-up, jewellery and clothing colours that suit you can enhance your look.

DEMAND fundraising manager Denise Gillies said: “We’ve been so grateful for the support this event received from the community.

“We couldn’t hold exciting events like this if it weren’t for the businesses and individuals that offer their support to DEMAND time and time again, so a huge thanks goes to all of them.

“A special thanks goes to our event sponsors, Arthur J Gallagher insurance brokers in Rickmansworth, and to St Michael’s Manor Hotel who once again provided the beautiful venue, together making the event possible.”

The event raised more than £2,000 for DEMAND.
