EU referendum: How did Dacorum vote?

Dacorum voted in favour of leaving the European Union in yesterday's referendum - but only by the narrowest margin.

Across the UK voters were asked “Should the United Kingdom remain in the European Union or leave the European Union?” with two options available.

42,542 people( 49.3 per cent) voted for YES (to remain in the EU) while 43,702 (50.7 per cent) votes were cast for NO (to leave the EU).

63 ballot papers were rejected for a number of reasons including:

· Four did not bear the official mark on the ballot paper;

· 24 voted in favour of both answers;

· 35 were unmarked or void for uncertainty.

The turnout for Dacorum was 79.1 per cent, with 86,307 votes cast.
