Council completes conversion of former Hemel Hempstead tennis courts into car park under wider improvement project
Dacorum Borough Council confirmed it has completed a car park improvement project in Hemel Hempstead.
Two former tennis courts by Coronation Fields have been renovated as part of a four-week council project.
It has been revealed that other projects are slated for the site as part of a wider renovation. The council says it is creating a multi-use games area in the park, a new outdoor gym, new cricket nets, and a new seating area for picnics that will include benches.
New parking is now available behind Bennetts End doctors' surgery. Councillor Robin Bromham revealed that a new circular path will be constructed around the now-open parking area.

"These improvements are all about creating accessible, attractive, and enjoyable space for residents of all ages,” he said.
The council has not announced what its new multi-games area will include and what sports it will be catered for. Last year, the authority revealed a master plan outlining how it could make the area more attractive.
This included trying to emphasise the countryside views on offer, as well as improving accessibility to the park for those with mobility issues.
Across its 11-point plan, the council considered creating a new playground as part of its multi-games area. Within the master plan the council said it would look to “maximise views across the valley”. Improving the second entrance to the park was also among the items under consideration.
The first proposal was making more distinct boundaries within the park, such as the soon-to-be created picnic area, alongside the new active games part of the fields.
