Livia Wagner, 10, of Berkhamsted, and seven-year-old Hari Watson from Hemel Hempstead became VIPs for the festive fun bash, which was hosted by actress Tamzin Outhwaite and featured Mickey and Minnie Mouse helping to spread the Disney magic.

Livia has been treated for a kidney condition at the capital’s Great Ormond Street – the UK’s largest paediatric centre for many services – since April, while Hari had a kidney transplant at the hospital earlier this year.

The courageous kids and their families enjoyed a private shopping spree, having their faces painted and writing letters to Santa.

Annamarie Wagner, mum to Livia, said: “We had a fantastic time and it really helped us to get in the festive spirit.”

Hari’s mum Fiona Watson said: “It was brilliant to meet Mickey and Minnie and lovely to spend time with other families who had been through similar experiences.”

This is the sixth year the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity has benefited from the Disney Store’s campaign. As well as throwing the party, which was attended by eight families in total, the Disney Store has also donated 800 soft toys to the hospital’s patients this Christmas.
