Teenage boys arrested after high-speed police chase in Hemel Hempstead

Two teenage boys were arrested after a "lengthy" police chase in the early hours of Wednesday.

Police spotted a stolen BMW travelling on the A405 at around 4.30am.

The driver of the car refused to pull over when alerted by police and a chase broke out.

Police pursued the stolen vehicle through Watford, Abbots Langley, and Hemel Hempstead, before a stinger was used to puncture the car's tyres on the A41.

Road Policing Unit tweeted: "Two arrested following a lengthy pursuit of a stolen motor vehicle around Watford and Hemel Hempstead. Vehicle brought to a stop using pursuit management tactics including a successful stinger deployment."

Residents took to social media to celebrate the successful arrests.

One said: "Another great job well done , keep up the good work guys."

Another added: "Well done, another one bites the dust."
