Man threatened with air weapon during 'frightening' burglary at Hemel Hempstead home

On Monday, November 18, a property was broken into on Northridge Way, near to the junction with Jocketts Road.

The offender, who was described as white and wearing a black balaclava, forced entry to the property via the front door.

The occupant, a man, heard the noise and confronted the intruder, who threatened him with an air weapon before fleeing the scene. Nothing was taken during the burglary.

It happened at around 5.50pm.

Detective constable Joel Gill, of the Dacorum Local Crime Unit, said: “This was a frightening ordeal for the victim who was thankfully unharmed during the incident.

“I would like to reassure him and the wider community that we are conducting extensive enquiries into the incident in order to establish the identity of the person(s) responsible.

“The burglary happened during rush hour on a busy through-road so a passing commuter or resident may have witnessed the incident, have valuable information or relevant dash cam footage.
