Hemel Hempstead property shut down by police after noise complaints and alleged drug use
Police officers have banned people from entering a home in Hemel Hempstead which has been linked to alleged drug use.
Today (9 October), Hertfordshire Constabulary confirmed it has obtained a closure order preventing people from accessing a property in Iveagh Court.
Witnesses have raised concerns to the police of persistent criminal activity taking place inside the building. Hertfordshire Constabulary says it has received numerous complaints about drug use, anti-social behaviour, and noise nuisance.
In total, the police force logged 10 crime reports in relation to the house in a eight-month period. Hertfordshire Constabulary says evidence was gather by local police officers and borough council officials before the matter was brought to court.

A closure order was authorised at St Albans Magistrates’ Court on Friday (4 October), under the Anti-Social Behaviour Crime and Policing Act 2014 and prevents anyone from entering the address for three months.
Anyone who breaches the terms of the order could face arrest and a fine, imprisonment or both, the police force warns.
Community Safety Sergeant Christopher Bignell said: “Removing someone from their home is always a last resort. Sadly, despite several offers of support and attempts to encourage the resident to change their behaviour, it persisted and we had no choice but to seek this order to provide some much-needed respite for others living in the area.
“I hope it reassures people that we do take action in these circumstances.
“If you have information about crime and anti-social behaviour in your neighbourhood, please don’t hesitate to report it to us. Every call is taken seriously and helps us to build up the evidence we need to take action.”
