Burglary gang who used telescopic ladder and crowbars for break-ins jailed after Hertfordshire investigation

Four men who plotted out a series of home break-ins have been jailed following an investigation from Hertfordshire Constabulary.

At St Albans Crown Court on June 26, the men were jailed after it was proved that they committed a series of burglaries in the Thames Valley area in February.

Hertfordshire Constabulary revealed that its officers were able to identify a vehicle used by the culprits that was linked to the break-ins.

When police officers intercepted the car they found a telescopic ladder, crowbars, gloves, cleaning fluid and stolen items. Hertfordshire Constabulary reveals that when the four men were arrested, three of them were found with walkie talkies.

They were formally charged in connection with burglaries committed in Berkhamsted and elsewhere in the south of England. These break-ins took place between January 7 and February 3.

All four men in the gang admitted to the charges and were sentenced as follows:

-Bruno Hoxha, 40, of no fixed abode, jailed for 18 months

-Damia Docaj, 32, of Homemead in Gravesend, Kent, jailed for 11 months

-Valentin Lico, aged 36, of Harrowden Road, Sheffield, jailed for 11 months

-Ervis Pllumbi, 35, of no fixed abode, jailed for 11 months

CSIU Detective Constable, Dale Powell, said: “This gang committed a string of burglaries, targeting detached properties and gaining access via upstairs windows. Our detectives managed to use ANPR technology and intelligence to track and trace the offender’s vehicle, which led to the initial stop and arrest. We have taken a gang, who were committing burglaries across a wide area, out of action. Our officers are constantly out and about, watching those involved in committing these types of offences and working proactively to keep the county safe.”
