Aida Saraiva, 44, from Hemel Hempstead, and friends are raising awareness and funds in aid of Prader Willi Syndrome Association (PWSA), the only organisation in the UK

dedicated to support those affected by the condition.

Prader Willi Syndrome (PWS) is a rare, complex genetic disorder that affects both males and females throughout their lives.

People with PWS have an overwhelming, compulsive insatiable appetite; poor muscle tone; mild to moderate learning difficulties; short stature; incomplete sexual development; emotional instability and social immaturity.

Aida said: “Every single day we are battling against PWS and we have been supported by PWSA throughout difficult moments.

“Scientists are yet to find a cure, but we still have hope.”

The coffee mornings are as follows:

> Thursday, May 12 from 10am at Gatecroft, Bennetts End, Hemel Hempstead HP3 9NA

There will be cakes and refreshments being sold, and it is hoped the events will raise money for PWSA which supports Prader Willi Syndrome families and carers with a support

helpline; funding research; organising family events throughout the UK; regional groups; conferences and workshops and training professionals, carers and teachers.
