And Mr Travis has launched a Crowdfunder campaign, so that public donations can help make the film - titled The Happy Warriors - happen.

He said: “This is a fantastic opportunity. We are delighted that Creative England have backed our film and look forward to raising additional funds to complete the documentary through our Crowdfunder.

“It will be great to raise awareness about the film as well as the inspiring work that the Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Team carryout.

“I hope that people will be interested in the film and will help put us on the map for filmmaking.”

present, while also showing the story of a rescue as it unfolds on-screen.

Anyone who pledges money to The Happy Warriors Crowdfunder will also have the chance to win a limited edition hardback copy of the book Cairngorm John: A Life in Mountain Rescue, tickets to The Happy Warriors’ premiere, and two days of winter skills training with a member of the Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Team.
