Alona Simister was part of an all-girl group in 2014 that won an award for raising the most sponsorship money for The Children’s Society.

She said: “I walked the 12-mile route last year with four friends. Our walking experience is varied, from half marathons to just walking the dog, but we enjoyed setting a pace and chatting the whole way round.

“The planning, friendly welcome and route support from the organisers made it even better.

“We were very pleased to win vouchers from The Complete Outdoors in Bourne End for raising the most money for the Children’s Society as a group, and look forward to returning to the walk this year.”

The total amount raised through the event last year was £6,332.

This year, walkers can once again chose from a six mile fun walk, the 12-mile bluebell walk or the 18-mile challenge to enjoy the best of the Chiltern countryside on Sunday, May 10.

There will be prizes up for grabs for those who raise the most sponsorship.
