Guests included Berkhamsted mayor Tom Ritchie and his wife, who presented Sheila with a bouquet of flowers.

The mayor and his wife were given a tour of the home and its grounds by the chairman of B&M Care, Bill Hughes.

The reception ended with a party in one of the home’s lounges, led by entertainer Dave Arnold, who played a selection of classic songs from the 1940s, ’50s and ’60s.
