Car hits tree on country road

Police were called at 1.07pm to a road traffic collision in New Road, Northchurch.

A Ford Fiesta had left the carriageway and collided with a tree.

It was initially thought that a person was trapped inside the vehicle but this turned out not to be the case.

The road was closed at the junction with the High Street while recovery was arranged for the vehicle.

The car’s two occupants received slight injuries but did not require hospital treatment.

The road was cleared by 2.20pm.
