Call for therapists to give time to help the terminally ill

Rennie Grove Hospice Care is looking for volunteer complementary therapists to help patients at its day hospice Grove House in St Albans or in their homes.

The volunteers will need to have completed their training and be skilled in one or more of the following: massage and Indian head massage, aromatherapy, reflexology, shiatsu, cranio-sacral therapy and reiki.

Reiki and cranio-sacral therapy practitioners will need to be qualified in one other therapy offered by Rennie Grove or have studied Anatomy & Physiology (A&P).

Volunteer services manager Jane Carruthers at Rennie Grove said: “The thought of helping people suffering from cancer and other life-limiting illness might initially seem a bit daunting but we are here every step of the way to help our team.”
