Burst water main causes traffic and homes disruption

Workmen are busy repairing a burst water main in Berkhamsted.

The road has been dug up at the junction of Durrants Road and Douglas Gardens so that crews from Affinity Water can repair the leak.

It means some surrounding homes are experiencing low water pressure.

Traffic management has been put in place to ensure the safety of commuters and workmen and, although the leak is expected to be fixed this afternoon, the restrictions will remain in place until Saturday afternoon to allow time for the road to be repaired.

An Affinity Water spokesman said: “We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.

“We would like to thank our customers for their patience whilst we carry out this work.”
