Bank holiday rail strike update: No trains from Hemel, Berkhamsted or Tring on Monday or Tuesday

The RMT and TSSA trade unions are expected to hold a 24-hour strike beginning on Bank Holiday Monday.

As a result London Midland will not run any services on the London-Northampton line on Monday or Tuesday.

All train companies will be similarly affected by the industrial action, including Virgin services from Milton Keynes.

Passengers with restricted tickets have the option of travelling at the same time on days either side of the strike action.

Customers who have already purchased tickets for travel will be entitled to receive a full refund if they wish, and the processing fee will be waived.

Season ticket holders will also be entitled to compensation through the Delay Repay process if the strike goes ahead.

Tom Joyner, London Midland’s director of passenger services, said: “We have worked with Network Rail to run what few trains we can under the circumstances.

“But I appreciate and am sorry that this action will make rail travel difficult for many and just not possible for most people.”
