Babs celebrates 100 with party at St Mary's House

Babs Watson celebrates 100th birthday with special guests and family

Hemel Hempstead resident Babs Watson celebrated her 100th birthday with family and special guests.

Babs lives at the Abbeyfield sheltered house, St Mary’s House in George Street, and the house hosted a big party for all her family, friends, fellow residents, present and past volunteers and staff.

Guests of honour were Hemel Hempstead MP Mike Penning and Mayor Gbola Adeleke.

After a toast and speeches, the Mayor gave Babs his chain of office for a short time as she became ‘honorary Mayor’.

A spokeswoman for Abbeyfield said: “Babs has an extremely active mind and was recently interviewed for the Abbeyfield in-house newsletter.”
