Awards honour for folk singer
Daria Kulesh was named as a runner-up in the Folk Worlds 2015 Album Awards.
Russian-born Daria, who released her debut album, Eternal Child, with Folkstock Records at Hemel Hempstead’s Old Town Hall last January, was nominated in two categories –Best Album from a Female Artist and overall Album of the Year.

Hide AdIn the awards, run by online folk, acoustic and roots music magazine Folk Worlds the emerging artist found herself up against some of the best-known names in folk, including BBC Radio 2 Folk Singer of the Year 2014 Bella Hardy and the legendary group Show of Hands.
Eternal Child was named runner-up in the Best Album from a Female Artist category.
Daria’s album has claimed numerous other accolades, including being hailed as ‘phenomenal’ by FATEA Magazine, being named Album of the Week by radio presenters and bloggers and appearing on multiple ‘Best of 2015’ radio show playlists.
Daria has been featured in The Times, The Telegraph and The Evening Standard.

Hide AdLast year she completed her first solo UK tour, Hemel to Hebrides, and also performed a string of shows at the Edinburgh Fringe.
She has played headline shows and support slots at many folk clubs and acoustic venues and headlined Birch Hill Charity Festival.
Daria also fronts KARA, a fast-rising band championed by The Telegraph in its Best Folk Albums 2014 list and in R2 Magazine’s Best of the Year, 2014 list.
