Amazon worker Kenny has it all figured out

Kenny Edordu, 37, works at Amazon’s fulfilment centre in Hemel Hempstead and is 
studying for an accountant qualification at KBM in London, which he hopes to achieve by the end of the year.

He said: “I did some basic accounting at school so when I heard about Career Choice and realised there was sponsorship, I thought this was a brilliant opportunity to complete my course.

“I’m studying for my ACCA exams alongside my other modules, so towards the end of the year when I’m qualified I’m going to see what opportunities are open to me, either in a new role at Amazon or outside the business. The good thing is that I will now have options about what I do and where I go.”

Dozens of members of the team at the 450,000 sq ft warehouse have embarked on the programme, which is an education initiative thatpays 95 per cent of tuition and fees for permanent and fixed-term staff to take courses for up to four years.

The programme encourages employees to pursue qualifications and training in fields such as engineering, IT, computer science, mechanical and electrical trades, healthcare, construction, transportation, logistics and accounting, to name just a few.
