Uncle Ben's rice in urgent food recall as pouches 'may contain glass', Hemel Hempstead shoppers told

Mars Food UK is recalling Uncle Ben’s Brown Basmati ready to heat rice pouches as some packs may contain pieces of glass.

In a joint statement with the Food Standards Agency (FSA), it said: "The possible presence of glass makes this product unsafe to eat."

The recall affects Uncle Ben’s Brown Basmati ready to heat rice 250g pouches only, with various best before dates through to 2021.

The statement continued: "If you have bought the product do not eat it. Instead return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund or please dispose of it and contact Uncle Ben’s consumer care line on 0800 952 1234 for a full refund."
