First-time buyers will be able to learn more about getting onto the property ladder and the Help to Buy scheme at an event being hosted by Bellway in Hemel Hempstead this weekend.

It will take place on Saturday, May 22, at The Foundry, Bellway’s development of apartments being built on the former West Herts College campus off Marlowes.

Expert Independent Financial Advisors will be in attendance to provide free and impartial advice about buying a first home, finding the best deals on the mortgage market and the new version of the Government’s Help to Buy scheme.

Greg Allsop, sales and marketing director for Bellway North London, said: “The Foundry has proved incredibly popular with first-time buyers thanks to its location close to Hemel’s thriving high street and the attainable prices of the apartments available.

“The majority of homes at the development have been purchased by first-time buyers using the Help to Buy scheme, so it is the ideal venue to host this event for people aiming to take their first steps on the property ladder and wanting to learn more about how to do so with the Help to Buy scheme.

“As well as having the opportunity to benefit from expert financial advice, visitors will also be able to find out more about the range of on-site facilities and services provided for residents at The Foundry, plus view the show apartment and discover the homes on offer, with no need to commit to reserving on the day.

“We created this event to help guide first-time buyers through the house buying process as we understand it can be a daunting first step for some, but our expert advisors and friendly sales team will be there to help and support along the way.

“This will be the first event to be hosted by Bellway since the start of coronavirus restrictions. The safety of our visitors and staff remains our absolute priority, so attendance will be by appointment only to ensure social distancing.

“I would therefore advise anyone interested in attending to register as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.”

Bellway is building a range of one and two-bedroom apartments at The Foundry, with some available to move in to in September.

When complete, the development will comprise 110 apartments, a residents’ business suite and an outdoor dining and recreational space with a table tennis table. Residents will also benefit from the presence of an on-site estates manager.

Help to Buy enables first-time buyers to secure a new-build home with a five per cent deposit and a 75 per cent mortgage. The remaining 20 per cent is provided in the form of a Government-backed equity loan, which is interest free for the first five years.

The scheme, which runs until 2023, is now only available to first-time buyers and on homes which do not exceed the regional price cap, which is £437,000 in the South East.

To register your interest for the event on Saturday 22 May, call the sales team on 01442 331397.
