As the whole county is in lockdown, NHS staff are still working hard looking after us all.

The midwives are no different.

Regardless of what is happening with the Covid-19 pandemic, maternity wards, including those at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, are still welcoming new life into the world on a daily basis.

The Hemel Gazette asked readers if any of them had welcomed a new born baby since the lockdown was introduced.

Here are some of the photos that were sent in by our readers.

New mummy Tiffany Freeman from Hemel Hempstead and her partner Lee Manning welcomed their baby boy Jacob James into the world on April 1. Tiffany, who has two older sons, gave birth at Stoke Mandeville Hospital at 2am, baby Jacob weighed 8lbs 6oz.

Tiffany said: "He is a gorgeous and happy little boy."

Christina Adeleke, from Hemel Hempstead, gave birth to her baby girl three weeks early on March 27. Sadie Moyes was born at 1.40pm at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, weighing 6lbs 1oz.

Sophie Carr, from Apsley, Hemel Hempstead, and her partner welcomed their baby girl into the world at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, via C Section, on April 23, at 11.54am - Tilly Niamh Carr weighed 6lb 14oz.

Sophie, an English teacher, said: "She is the little sister of proud big sister Ronnie who will be 3 next week."

The newest arrival we have been sent is from Tracey Costella who gave birth to a baby girl on May 13, Darcie Alison Molloy weighed 6lb 14oz.
