Whether you like watching horror films or trick-or-treating this Halloween, those looking a real scare might be interested to know that Dacorum has some haunted sites.
As All Hallows' Eve (Halloween) approaches, we have put together a list of 13 of the most-haunted places in Dacorum.
Warning: This may give you nightmares.
Some of these locations were found on Dr Paul Lee's Haunted Database.

5. Rose and Crown, in Hemel Hempstead
It is said to be home to a murderer called Jack, whose ghost is bricked up in the basement of the Rose and Crown. Photo: Google Maps

6. The Crown, in Berkhamsted
It is said that interference with the barrels comes from the phantom of an old woman, who used to sit in a rocking chair in an alcove and resents intrusion. Temperature drops have been recorded in the cellar, and the ghost is blamed for blocking pipes, making light bulbs "pop" out of their sockets and breaking wine bottles. A second ghost is believed to have moved in to The Crown from nearby pub The Swan (now "The Swan Youth Project") following a 1977 exorcism - that of a man that was buried alive under a cartload of stone. Another phantom is that of an Edwardian man dressed in grey. He has been seen in an upstairs room and has been known to cross the road from near St Peter's Church to the pub. Photo: Google Maps

7. Boxmoor Common, in Boxmoor
Robert Snooks became the last highwayman to be hung in England in 1802. He was buried at the scene of his crime where robbed a post boy on the turnpike on Boxmoor Common. Photo: Google Maps

8. The George and Dragon
