Council confirms date for Armed Forces Day event in Hemel Hempstead

Dacorum Borough Council is holding its annual Armed Forces Day celebration in Hemel Hempstead this summer.

On June 27, in Gadebridge Park a special event has been arranged taking place between 12pm to 4pm.

Dacorum Borough Council says the showcase is an opportunity to recognise and show appreciation for the dedication and service of our Armed Forces community, including serving personnel, veterans, cadets, and their families.

The council adds that it has arranged entertainment for all ages. A main arena will be created at the park with a line-up including ‘birds of prey’ demonstrations, Home Guard foot drill displays, swing dancers, and other interactive activities.

Dacorum Borough Council also revealed that over 40 stalls will be erected at the park showcasing the work of local craftspeople, community groups and organisations, alongside a wide range of food and drink options. There will also be fairground rides on site.

Additional attractions include reenactment groups, military vehicles, children’s games, face painting, a crime scene challenge and even Alpacas, the council advises.

Councillor Caroline Smith-Wright said: "We are proud to be hosting our Armed Forces Day event in the beautiful surroundings of Gadebridge Park. It is a wonderful opportunity for our communities to come together to recognise and thank our Armed Forces and their families for their dedication and sacrifice.

“The day offers something for everyone, with a wide range of entertainment and activities for all ages, alongside a great selection of community, craft and food stalls to enjoy.”
