A consultation over plans to relocate a cancer centre which caress for patients across Hemel, Berkhamsted and Tring is now open.
The consultation wants your views over plans to move the Mount Vernon Cancer Centre, which supports patients across Dacorum and wider Hertfordshire as well as Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, north west London and East Berkshire, to a new facility next to Watford General Hospital.
The centre, which is renowned for specialist cancer care, is currently based at Northwood in Middlesex.

Plans have already been approved for a new Watford General Hospital, and if Mount Vernon is added to the site, it would further increase the services available.
If Mount Vernon is relocated to the new site chemotherapy, diagnostics and follow-up care could be expanded, while there would be less need for patients to travel long distances for routine appointments.

The proposals for relocating the cancer centre to Watford were drawn up after an independent review in 2019 found that specialised cancer services would not be able to continue at the existing site.
