Government website reveals where virus is spreading slowest through towns and villages

These are the areas in Dacorum where numbers of Covid-19 cases are falling fastest. Latest Government figures show Nash Mills and Bennetts End, and Hemel Hempstead Town have the most number of cases, both areas recorded 12 cases in the seven days up to October 31. But Maylands and Adeyfield are bucking the trend with the biggest decrease in positive tests (62.4%). Data analysts use areas of roughly equal population — known as Middle Layer Super Output Areas — each with an average of 7,200 people. They allow a four or five day period after raw data is published for corrections to be made, convert the figure into a figure assuming each area had a population of 100,000 then add the numbers to an interactive map. Latest numbers available up to October 31 show the number of new tests — using postcodes to identify locations — including seven day case rates and direction of change.
