"We have responded to some blatant breaches over the last 12 months, and issued fixed penalty notices where appropriate, and our patrols will continue as lockdown rules remain in place.

“The schools may be returning, but we’re not out of the woods yet, and we’re working with council COVID marshals, environmental health and trading standards officers, patrolling hot spots to encourage people to follow the restrictions, including wear face coverings where needed and not to gather in large numbers.

"It’s not long to wait until we can all enjoy time with friends and family, let’s just get through the next few weeks as lockdown gradually eases, all playing our part and doing the right thing.”
