There have been no new deaths from coronavirus recorded at West Hertfordshire Hospitals Trust over the past 24 hours, latest official figures show.

NHS England figures show 325 people had died in hospital at West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust as of 5pm on Tuesday, May 12, – the same number as on Monday.

Of 23 trusts within the region, the West Hertfordshire Hospitals Trust, which manages Hemel Hempstead Hospital, Watford General Hospital and St Albans City Hospital, has the highest death toll.

There have been nine coronavirus deaths at the Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust, which looks after the Marlowes Health and Wellbeing Centre in Hemel Hempstead, as well as other health centres in Essex, Norfolk and Buckinghamshire.

There have been eight coronavirus deaths at the Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust, which looks after Cheshunt Community Hospital, Harpenden Memorial Hospital, Herts and Essex Hospital, Potters Bar Community Hospital, Roysten Hospital and Queen Victoria Memorial Hopsital in Welwyn.

There have been 133 coronavirus deaths at East and North Hertfordshire Trust, which is in charge of Lister Hospital, Hertford County Hospital, New QEII Hospital and Mount Vernon Cancer Care Centre.

Figures from the Office for National Statistics show that in Dacorum, 95 deaths involving Covid-19 were provisionally registered up to May 9 – up from 84 the week before.

Of those, 18 occurred in care homes and three at private homes. A further two deaths occurred in hospices, other community establishments or elsewhere. In the previous week, 17 Covid-19 deaths had been recorded in care homes. The figures include deaths that occurred up to May 1 which were registered up to eight days later.

Figures released by Public Health England show that there have been three new confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Dacorum, there are now 326.

There are 2,660 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Hertfordshire, up from 2,641.

But the true number of cases is thought to be far higher with many people not being tested.

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases now stands at 229,705 (includes tests carried out by commercial partners which are not included in the country totals), rising by 3,242.

The number of COVID-19 associated UK deaths has been recorded as 33,186, rising by 494 - according to Public Health England.

The number of deaths are people who have had a positive test result confirmed by a Public Health or NHS laboratory.

The figures for the number of patients recovered from COVID-19 have not been released by Public Health England.

The new figures were recorded between 5pm on Monday and 5pm on Tuesday.
