Covid-19 latest: here’s how many positive cases have been recorded in Dacorum in the last 24 hours

Dacorum recorded nine new positive Covid-19 cases today (April 20).

The total for the borough is now 8,518, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

The incidence rate over the last 7 days remains unchanged at 17.4 per 100,000 population (the period represented is the 7 days ending April 15).

On April 13, the incidence rate was 19.4 per 100,000 population (the 7 days ending April 8).

There have been 75 new cases in Hertfordshire, the total is now 76,568.

Here's a daily breakdown of the figures in Dacorum for the last seven days:

> April 14 - seven cases

> April 15 - four cases

> April 16 - three cases

> April 17 - three cases

> April 18 - one case

> April 19 - eight cases.

According to Public Health England there were 19 confirmed COVID-19 patients in West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust - which manages hospitals in Watford, Hemel Hempstead and St Albans - on Tuesday, April 13, and three were on a mechanical ventilation bed.

There have been no new Covid-related deaths recorded in Dacorum, the total is 318, according to Public Health England (deaths within 28 days of positive test).

It has been 41 days since a death within 28 days of a COVID test has been reported in Dacorum.

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 2,524 to 4,393,307. The number of deaths has risen by 33 to 127,307.

As of April 19, in the UK, 33,032,120 people had received the first dose of the vaccination for COVID-19, and 10,425,790 had received their second dose.

The figures for the number of patients recovered from Covid-19 have not been released by Public Health England.

The new figures were recorded between 5pm on Sunday, April 18, and 5pm on Monday, April 19.
