Covid-19 latest: here's how many new cases were recorded in Dacorum today

Dacorum recorded just four new positive Covid-19 cases today (April 30).

The total for the borough is 8,577, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

The incidence rate over the last 7 days has decreased from 36.8 per 100,000 to 33 per 100,000 (the period represented is the 7 days ending April 25)

On April 23, the incidence rate was 18.1 per 100,000 population (the 7 days ending April 18).

There have been 35 new cases in Hertfordshire, the total is now 76,881.

Here's a daily breakdown of the figures in Dacorum for the last seven days:

> April 23 - 12 cases

> April 24 - nine cases

> April 25 - five cases

> April 26 - eight cases

> April 27 - five cases

> April 28 - zero cases

> April 29 - eight cases.

According to Public Health England there were 11 confirmed COVID-19 patients in West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust - which manages hospitals in Watford, Hemel Hempstead and St Albans - on Tuesday, April 27, and one was on a mechanical ventilation bed.

There have been no new Covid-related deaths recorded in Dacorum, the total is 319, according to Public Health England (deaths within 28 days of positive test).

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 2,381 to 4,416,623. The number of deaths has risen by 15 to 127,517.

As of April 29, in the UK, 34,216,087 people had received the first dose of the vaccination for COVID-19, and 14,532,875 had received their second dose.

The figures for the number of patients recovered from Covid-19 have not been released by Public Health England.

The new figures were recorded between 5pm on Wednesday, April 28, and 5pm on Thursday, April 29.
