Covid-19 latest: here's how many new cases were recorded in Dacorum in the last 24 hours

Dacorum recorded five new positive Covid-19 cases today (May 18).

Public Health England has revised historical case data in England.

On it's website, it said the introduction of a new system disrupted the removal of cases where a positive rapid lateral flow test was followed by all negative polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests taken within 3 days. These 4,776 cases have now been removed. Newly-reported cases for the UK and England were unaffected.

Newly-reported cases at regional and local authority level within England are calculated as the daily change in the total number of cases. This means that for 18 May 2021, these show significantly lower numbers or zero, and do not reflect the actual number of new cases reported on that date.

In Dacorum, 27 cases were removed from Monday's figure (8,640) by Public Health England, and five new cases were recorded today (May 18).

The total for the borough is now 8,618, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

The incidence rate over the last 7 days has decreased from 17.4 per 100,000 to 13.6 per 100,000 population (the period represented is the 7 days ending May 13).

On May 11, the incidence rate was 16.2 per 100,000 population (the 7 days ending May 6).

In Hertfordshire, 120 cases were removed from Monday's figure (77,319) and 40 cases were recorded today (May 18) - the total is now 77,239.

According to Public Health England there were two confirmed COVID-19 patients in West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust - which manages hospitals in Watford, Hemel Hempstead and St Albans - on Tuesday, May 11, and no patients were on a mechanical ventilation bed.

There have been no new Covid-related deaths recorded in Dacorum, the total is 321, according to Public Health England (deaths within 28 days of positive test).

In the UK, the number of coronavirus cases has risen to 4,450,392. The number of deaths has risen to 127,691.

As of May 17, in the UK, 36,811,405 people had received the first dose of the vaccination for COVID-19, and 20,546,452 had received their second dose.

The figures for the number of patients recovered from Covid-19 have not been released by Public Health England.

The new figures were recorded between 5pm on Sunday, May 16, and 5pm on Monday, May 17.
