Covid-19 latest: here's how many new cases were recorded in Dacorum in the last 24 hours

Dacorum recorded no new positive Covid-19 cases today (May 12).

The total for the borough is 8,624, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

The incidence rate over the last 7 days has decreased from 16.2 per 100,000 to 15.5 per 100,000 population (the period represented is the 7 days ending May 7).

On May 5, the incidence rate was 23.3 per 100,000 population (the 7 days ending April 30).

There have been eight new cases in Hertfordshire, the total is now 77,193.

Here's a daily breakdown of the figures in Dacorum for the last seven days:

> May 5 - five cases

> May 6 - two cases

> May 7 - seven cases

> May 8 - three cases

> May 9 - three cases

> May 10 - five cases

> May 11 - eight cases.

According to Public Health England there were five confirmed COVID-19 patients in West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust - which manages hospitals in Watford, Hemel Hempstead and St Albans - on Tuesday, May 4, and no patients were on a mechanical ventilation bed.

There have been one new Covid-related death recorded in Dacorum, the total is now 321, according to Public Health England (deaths within 28 days of positive test).

In the UK, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 2,284 to 4,441,975. The number of deaths has risen by 11 to 127,640.

As of May 11, in the UK, 35,722,461 people had received the first dose of the vaccination for COVID-19, and 18,438,532 had received their second dose.

The figures for the number of patients recovered from Covid-19 have not been released by Public Health England.
