Coronavirus latest: here’s how many new cases were recorded in Dacorum in the last 24 hours

Dacorum has recorded 14 new positive Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours of data released this afternoon (March 1).

The total for the borough is now 8,157 according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

The incidence rate over the last 7 days has decreased 74.3 per 100,000 population to 73 per 100,000 (the period represented is the 7 days ending February 24).

On February 22, the incidence rate was 70.4 per 100,000 population (the 7 days ending February 17).

There have been 72 new cases in Hertfordshire the total is now 74,157.

Here's a daily breakdown of the figures in Dacorum for the last seven days:

> February 22 - six cases

> February 23 - 24 cases

> February 24 - 22 cases

> February 25 - 16 cases

> February 26 - 14 cases

> February 27 - 25 cases

> February 28 - 18 cases.

According to Public Health England there were 125 confirmed COVID-19 patients in West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust - which manages hospitals in Watford, Hemel Hempstead and St Albans - on Tuesday, February 16, and 15 were on mechanical ventilation beds.

There have been no new Covid-related deaths recorded in Dacorum, the total is still 312. There have been no new deaths recorded in Hertfordshire, the total is 2,406 - according to Public Health England (deaths within 28 days of positive test).

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 5,455 and now stands at 4,182,009. The number of deaths has risen by 104 to 122,953.

The estimated R number is 0.6 to 0.9, with a daily infection growth rate range of -6% to -2% as of February 26.

As of February 28, in the UK, 20,275,451 people had received the first dose of the vaccination for COVID-19, and 815,816 had received their second dose.

The new figures were recorded between 5pm on Saturday, February 27, and 5pm on Sunday, February 28.
