Coronavirus latest: here’s how many new cases have been recorded in Dacorum over the weekend

Dacorum has recorded three new positive Covid-19 cases over the weekend.

The total for the borough is now 8,472, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

On Saturday three cases were recorded and no cases were recorded yesterday (Sunday).

From today (April 9) Public Health England changed the way cases are reported. Cases that have been identified through a positive rapid lateral flow test will be removed for people who took Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests within 3 days that were all negative.

Cases of this type that were previously reported were removed from the cumulative total, reducing the total by 8,010. As a result, on Friday, 21 historic cases in Dacorum were removed.

The incidence rate over the last 7 days is 25.8 per 100,000 (the period represented is the 7 days ending April 6)

There have been 42 new cases in Hertfordshire, the total is now 76,234.

Here's a daily breakdown of the figures in Dacorum for the last seven days:

> April 5 - five cases

> April 6 - four cases

> April 7 - four cases

> April 8 - three cases

> April 9 - two cases

> April 10 - three cases

> April 11 - zero cases.

According to Public Health England there were 20 confirmed COVID-19 patients in West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust - which manages hospitals in Watford, Hemel Hempstead and St Albans - on Tuesday, April 6, and one was on a mechanical ventilation bed.

There have been no new Covid-related deaths recorded in Dacorum, the total is 318, according to Public Health England (deaths within 28 days of positive test).

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases is now 4,369,775. The number of deaths is now 127,087.

As of April 10, in the UK, 32,121,353 people had received the first dose of the vaccination for COVID-19, and 7,466,540 had received their second dose.

You should continue to meet people you do not live with outdoors - meeting with up to six people from different households (rule of six) or a total of two households.

Dacorum Borough Council's adventure playgrounds will remain closed at this stage but the sports pitches are available for bookings.
