Coronavirus latest: Dacorum records over 20 new cases in 24 hours

There have been 28 new positive Covid-19 tests recorded in Dacorum over the past 24 hours.

The total for the borough is now 1,400, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

There have been 262 new cases today in Hertfordshire, the total is now 11,905.

There has been one new recorded death in Dacorum, the total is now 104. There have been 902 deaths in Hertfordshire since the start of the pandemic, according to Public Health England.

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 25,177 and now stands at 1,099,059.

The latest R number is estimated at 1.1 to 1.3 with a daily growth rate range of +2% to +4%.

The number of deaths has risen by 492 to 47,742.

The death toll has been 'recalculated' by officials. The new count is based on a new definition of who has died from Covid-19.

Previously, people in England who died at any stage following a positive test, regardless of the cause of their death, were counted in the figures.

However, there is now a cut off point of 28 days from the first laboratory-confirmed positive COVID test.

The figures for the number of patients recovered from Covid-19 have not been released by Public Health England.

The new figures were recorded between 5pm on Monday, November 2, and Tuesday, November 3.

The figures come from the Government website which is available for the public to view here.On Saturday, it was announced that the entire country would enter a national four-week lockdown beginning tomorrow (Thursday).

The government hopes a lockdown will help stem the rising tide of new Covid-19 cases.
