Coronavirus latest: Dacorum records 53 confirmed cases over the weekend

There have been 53 new positive Covid-19 tests in Dacorum over the weekend, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

The total for the borough is now 1,194. On Saturday, the figures rose by 32 and there were 21 new cases yesterday.

There have been 9,787 cases in Hertfordshire.

There has been no new deaths of a patient testing positive for Covid-19 in Dacorum. The total number of deaths since the start of the pandemic of people who had a positive test result for COVID-19 and died within 28 days of the first positive test in Dacorum is 100, according to Public Health England.

There have been 873,800 lab-confirmed cases in the UK.

The latest R number is estimated at 1.2 to 1.4 with a daily growth rate range of 3% to 6%

The number of Covid-19 associated UK deaths has been recorded as 44,896, according to Public Health England.

Nationally, the death toll has been 'recalculated' by officials. The new count is based on a new definition of who has died from Covid-19.

Previously, people in England who died at any stage following a positive test, regardless of the cause of their death, were counted in the figures.

However, there is now a cut off point of 28 days from the first laboratory-confirmed positive COVID test.

The figures for the number of patients recovered from Covid-19 have not been released by Public Health England.
