Coronavirus latest: Dacorum records 36 new confirmed cases today

There have been 36 new positive Covid-19 tests in Dacorum in the last 24 hours.

The total for the borough is now 1,266, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

There was one new death of a patient testing positive for Covid-19 in Dacorum. The total number of deaths since the start of the pandemic of people who had a positive test result for COVID-19 and died within 28 days of the first positive test in Dacorum is 102, according to Public Health England.

Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases has risen by 24,701 and now stands at 942,275. The number of deaths has risen by 310 to 45,675.

The death toll has been 'recalculated' by officials. The new count is based on a new definition of who has died from Covid-19.

Previously, people in England who died at any stage following a positive test, regardless of the cause of their death, were counted in the figures.

However, there is now a cut off point of 28 days from the first laboratory-confirmed positive COVID test.

The figures for the number of patients recovered from Covid-19 have not been released by Public Health England.

The new figures were recorded between 5pm on Monday, October 26, and Tuesday, October 27.
