Coronavirus latest: Dacorum records 292 new cases over the weekend

Dacorum has recorded 292 new positive Covid-19 cases over the weekend.
The total for the borough is now 5,753, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

Hide AdOn Saturday, 171 cases were recorded, and there were 121 cases recorded yesterday (Sunday).
The incidence rate over the last 7 days is 685.6 per 100,000 population (the period represented is the 7 days ending January 5).
There have been 2,782 new cases in Hertfordshire, the total is now 52,989.
According to Public Health England there were 330 confirmed COVID-19 patients in West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust on Tuesday, January 5, and 18 were on mechanical ventilation beds.

Hide AdThere have been 10 new deaths recorded in Dacorum, the total is now 170, and there have been 43 new deaths in Hertfordshire, the total is now 1,369 - according to Public Health England (deaths within 28 days of positive test).
Nationally, the number of coronavirus cases is 3,072,349 and the number of deaths is now 81,431.
The estimated R number is 1 to 1.4 with a daily infection growth rate range of 0% to +6% as of 8 January.
As of January 3, 1,296,432 people in the UK had received the first dose of the vaccination for COVID-19, and 21,313 had received their second dose.

Hide AdThe figures for the number of patients recovered from Covid-19 have not been released by Public Health England.
